Sunday 2nd October 2011:

Gay and Linda tell us about a new development - 'The One Place'.

News from Gay Neep and Linda Murray about 'The One Place'

Our vision is to set up a place in Cinderford town centre where people can come and talk about things that are troubling them. Such issues might include loneliness, bereavement, family problems, debt, housing, depression etc. We are praying that we will find the place/shop and suitable volunteers in the next 6 months. In the meantime we will be attending training courses that could be useful and investigating sources of funding.
The name 'The One Place' is to show that people from all walks of life with all sorts of problems are welcome and we will provide a cup of tea and a listening ear. If we feel that we can't help them we will do our best to find someone who can.
The Centre will be similar to 'Number 72', a drop in Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk. Website: http://number72.org

Sunday 12th and 19th June 2011 - Fundraising for Rwandan orphans' project:

The Bible Explorers raised money (£210.70 in total with a little bit more still to come in) for the orphans in Rwanda by selling items which they had made, after the service on Sunday 12th and Sunday 19th June. They sold the following items:

Daniel: A CD of music composed and recorded by him
Lizzie: Home-baked cakes and muffins
Nicole: Hand-made cards
Matthew: A tombola-type game involving frogs - pick a number ending in 5 or 0 to win!
Samantha: Banana leaf cards made by women in Rwanda

Thank you for supporting the young people and in doing so helping them to raise funds for the needy children in the Rwandan Orphans' Project (see photo below).
